Blog Action Day 2008 – October 15th – Poverty

with one comment

I recently found out about Blog Action Day from a post on Jill Hurst-Wahl’s eNetworking 101 blog. Blog Action Day is an event where bloggers around the world publish posts on one far-reaching issue. The goal of Blog Action Day is to “trigger a global discussion and to bring to bear the diverse opinions and ideas of thousands of different people.” This year, on October 15th, the issue is poverty.

Anyone can participate! If you do plan to address poverty on October 15th, please visit the website to register your blog. At the time of this writing, over 3,400 sites have registered with an estimated audience reach of 7,043,843 readers. I strongly encourage you to participate in Blog Action Day to spread awareness of an issue that impacts our global community. So start thinking about your poverty post now!

  1. Good topic. I would like to see a blog action day on nationalism versus more global thinking, i.e. have we gone too far with the flags and competition, our country right or wrong, or are we not all just citizens of this one world, all in it together. It would be interesting to see comments from other countries, and to see how they view us. Or maybe we don’t want to know…
